2nd Quarter 2015 Market Outlook

Second Quarter 2015 Market Outlook

I trust that this newsletter finds you well and that you have had a good summer thus far. This summer has been rocky with a lot of emotional movements in the market tied to

our friends over in Greece not making a payment on a bond obligation. Emotion like this can create wonderful buying opportunities for long term investors. If you feel in a panic and would like to have a conversation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me as I am happy to help in any way I can. We continue to work to improve portfolios to fit each persons needs and timelines and adjust accordingly.

On the Personal Side:

Last weekend was my favorite weekend of the summer when our neighborhood becomes a Norman Rockwell painting with all of the Fourth of July festivities and traditions. It was a nice respite from a summer full of camps, swim team, and even a beach trip to pet the sharks with the grandparents down in Oak Island for the kids.

Evan is busy running a full time shuttle bus and somehow keeping our home standing as well. She is working feverishly on the upcoming Kirkwood 5 K race coming up in July. Matt Logan Inc is excited to be a sponsor for this great event that benefits Backpack Beginnings. For more information or to sign up, click here. I have been busy with my new summer project of building a treehouse. I am looking for a few people with very good health insurance plans to verify stability of the structure in the coming weeks so please feel free to reach out if you think you would be a fit and like to live on the edge.

On the business side:

This past quarter we have truly gotten the ball rolling with our new financial planning software, E-money. We have been focusing on setting this platform up in each review and the reviews have been very positive. I am appreciative of my niece, Emily Walthall, who has been interning with us this summer as she has really done a fantastic job plugging each of you in. She has also been very helpful in our website update. If you have not seen our new site, please take a minute to check it out. We have made changes that will allow it to be more user friendly for smartphones as well as added a lot of content and information on a broad range of financial topics. Our office has been very focused on our internal processes to be sure that we focus on a high level of communication and that we are handling service issues in a very efficient manor. We have enjoyed a great response from clients regarding our January merger with Loflin Financial. We continue to seek input and feedback and react based on that information.

Social Media:

If you have not already done so, please connect via LinkedIn or Twitter at @mattloganinc or follow my page on Facebook where you will find timely articles and regular TV interviews. While I am cautious not to overwhelm you with emails I do post regularly on these outlets and it allows you to receive information from time to time that could be helpful for you and your family. We have also changed the formatting for our quarterly newsletter, so be sure to

Referrals:

This is mid-summer and as you take those family vacations be sure to mention me to family members who may be asking about needing some guidance. I am very careful about “choosing clients as I would my friends.” (that is a quote from Warren Buffet’s partner Charlie Munger) That being said, the best way for me to meet the best clients is through my current clients.

Online Access:

We have consolidated our online account access through E-money. To access your accounts, click here. If you have never accessed your accounts online, send me an email and I will make sure that full instructions are emailed to you so that you can be set up.

The Bus:

The bus has had its shares of ups and downs with the air conditioning and is now up and running. It has been to the Rolling Stones, Mumford and Sons, my aforementioned niece’s 21st birthday and done other trips for staff development and birthdays. It has a heck of a social schedule. The best part is that in just the past six months, it has raised over $4000 for local non-profits. If you are arranging a charity auction I would love to donate it to raise even more for community non profits so don’t hesitate to reach out.
